Cooking Appetizers

Appetizers or Hors d'oeuvres are are the tasty treats that are offered guests prior to eating dinner. Appetizers are meant to moderate the hunger stimulated by drink.

Spirits or Cocktails, allegedly stimulate the appetite, and are customarily served with appetizers. Weddings for instance, almost always serve appetizers to get guests into a celebratory mood before dining.

Formal presentation of appetizers can be as important as the actual appetizer itself when it comes to making a statement about the oncoming meal the guests are about to partake.

Small portions of  finger foods, often highly seasoned, pieces of bread, crackers, or croutons with that have various toppings, are the classic examples of appetizer categories.

Family functions, baby showers, or just having the guys over to watch the game, appetizers can be as basic Pigs in a blanket, nachos or as fancy as bacon wrapped scallops.
