If you grew up watching mom, you may have picked up a few recipes along the way, but were they high in fat and cholesterol? Taking the same recipes and making them more in line with today's heath conscious mindset is something you can do easily.

If you were able to learn a few of her recipes and now carry on the family traditions, you may add your own style and ingredients to make them your own but only better.

There are many great cook books and online sites that contain heart healthy recipes you can create in 30 minutes or less. It does not have to complicated to make a nice chicken or vegetable dish that can prove to be a great low fat dinner.
